Jelly Trifle

Ingredients
Sponge or swiss roll or pound cake
1 packet of jelly crystals, any flavour
2 cups of water
1 can of fruit cocktails
2 tbsp custard powder
2 cups of fresh milk
Sprinkles or any other decoratives

Instructions
1) Slice the cake 1-2cm thin, arrange at the bottom of the pyrex
2) Strain the syrup out of the fruits from the can and spread onto the cake
3) Bring the water to a boil in a pot and slowly add in the jelly crystals, stir for about 2-3 minutes until the crystals dissolve into the water. Pour onto the fruits and cake. Refrigerate for 2 hours
4) After 2 hours, boil 1.5 cups of milk in a pot. Mix the remaining milk with the custard powder until the dissolve. Add into the boiling milk, stir for 2-3 minutes until custard becomes thick and smooth. Turn off fire, let cool for a minute and pour onto the frozen jelly mix
5) Continue refrigerating for another 4-6 hours so that the custard freezes too  
6) Top with whipped cream and sprinkles or anything that you might prefer 

ps. It would be easier and faster if you could find a ready made custard mix but I can't find any here
