Beef Stew
500g cubed beef
1 brown onion (ring-cut)
5 cloves of garlic
1 small can of tomato puree
1 potato
1 carrot
1/2 cup of sliced mushrooms
1 can of baked beans in tomato sauce
1 can of green peas (drained)
4-5 tbsp chilli sauce
1 tbsp of hot sauce
1 tbsp coarse black pepper
1 tsp mixed herbs
Garlic Bread
1 loaf of French Loaf
100g of butter
4 cloves of garlic (crushed and chopped)
Instructions
Beef Stew
1) Sauté the brown onion for about 10 minutes to caramelise. Add in the cubed beef and chopped garlic and cook until the beef is browned.
2) Add in half of the pot with water. Add in the tomato puree, potato and carrot. Leave to simmer until the beef and veggies are tender.
3) Add in the mushrooms, baked beans, green peas and 1 cup of water. Mix well.
4) Add in the chilli sauce, hot sauce (I used Nando's), black paper and mixed herbs. Stir well.
5) Salt and sugar to taste. Leave to simmer on low heat for about an hour.
Garlic Bread
1) Heat the oven at 180'c. Slice the loaf diagonally.
2) Melt the butter with the garlic and spread onto the bread.
3) Toast them in the oven for about 5 minutes.
