Spaghetti Bake
September 14, 2012Ingredients
750g regular spaghetti
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
1/2 cup mozarella cheese
500g beef mince
2 jars of your favourite spaghetti sauce (approx. 570g each)
Chilli sauce (optional)
Salt, black pepper and oregano to taste
3/4 cup mozarella cheese for topping
Instructions
1) Preheat oven to 180'c, grease your baking dish(es) lightly with butter
2) Boil spaghetti according to packaging instructions without the salt. Run through cold water after its done to avoid the pasta from sticking. Pour into a dry big bowl
3) Add in the eggs, parmesan and mozarella cheese onto the pasta and mix well. I fund it easier to use my hands. Pour the pasta into the baking dish(es). Set aside
4) Heat oil in a saute pan and brown the beef mince. Then add in the spaghetti sauce and leave to simmer. I added some chilli sauce because I don't like my pasta to taste too tomato-ish. Salt, black pepper and oregano to taste
5) Pour the meat sauce onto the pasta. And top it off with mozarella cheese. Bake for 15 minutes, let cool for 5 before cutting in.
ps. I cheated and used a pre-made spaghetti sauce. But if you want to make your own, get the recipe here, under Meat Sauce.
