Daging Goreng Kicap

200g beef (sliced thin)
1 tbsp oyster sauce
2 tbsp thick soy sauce
2 tbsp sweet soy sauce
3 red shallots
2 garlic cloves
1 tsp ginger
1 cinnamon stick
2 bunga cengkih
3 bunga lawang
1 - 1.5 tbsp chilli paste
1 tsp asam jawa paste
1/2 cup water
Instructions
1) Marinate the sliced beef with the sauces for at least 30 minutes.
2) Finely chop the shallots, garlic and ginger. Saute with cinnamon stick, bunga cengkih and bunga lawang until fragrant.
3) Add in the chilli paste. Cook for a few minutes until 'pecah minyak'.
4) Add in the marinated beef and asam Jawa paste mixed with water.
5) Cook for about 10-15 minutes until the liquid from the beef dries up and the beef softens. Salt and sugar to taste.
