Daging Masak Hitam

Ingredients
200-300g sliced beef
3 cloves of garlic
1 big yellow onion (set aside 1/4)
1 tbsp ginger
3 lemongrass
3 buah keras
4 cili kering
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 tbsp asam jawa paste
Salt and sugar to taste
Water

Instructions
1) Blend garlic, onion, ginger, lemongrass, buah keras, cili kering and 1/2 cup of water.
2) Heat up oil in a wok and lightly fry the sliced beef. Add in the blended ingredients and cook until fragrant.
3) Add in the soy sauce and asap jaws  mix well. Gradually add in more soy sauce until the colour and taste are just right. 
4) Continue cooking for about 15 mins until beef slices are tender and the gravy thickens. If the gravy gets too dry, add some water and leave to simmer.
5) Slice the remaining big onion and add into the wok for garnishing. Mix well before serving.
